ZS-SAL

Although the 1st of SAA’s 747 to roll off the Boeing production line, due to production issues the aircraft delivery was delayed until after SAA’s 3rd aircraft, ZS-SAN, had flown and was delivered. This aircraft served the airline for 32 years before finally being withdrawn from service and stored at Johannesburg in February 2004; the aircraft was dismantled with only cockpit section saved which is now displayed at the Hi-Flyerz Pub, a popular restaurant and bar right under the approach path the runway 03R at Johannesburg Airport.
